What's Reiki? And why is it good for animals?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that is usually included among the energy healing techniques like Acupuncture, Acupressure, and Therapeutic Touch. It's a truly holistic, non-invasive method for promoting balance - in body, mind and spirit. Often used in hospitals in conjunction with traditional therapies like Chemotherapy and Radiation, Reiki has been proven to alleviate pain and speed up healing time. Now Reiki is also being used to promote wellness not only in people, but in their pets.
The United States often lags behind other countries in uses of alternative therapies, especially for animals, but Reiki is one of the most widely used energy therapies worldwide and its popularity with pet owners is growing. While some may be skeptical about a method whose roots are not based in western ideas of medicine, or attribute its success to positive thinking, animals merely react - either accepting or rejecting what they are offered. In most cases, the animals, who are extremely sensitive to energy, love to bask in Reiki's light. The results are amazing.
